Mission

Supporting projects and programs in the Auroville Project in India as the first attempt anywhere to create a universal town where men and women of all countries can live together in peace and progressive harmony, above all creeds, all politics and all nationalities.

We also provided coaching and technical support to enhance their capacity. Our grants have resulted in dozens of young people receiving in-depth training and career development in coding and digital marketing, hundreds of students receiving high quality education with special attention to creativity and personal development, and thousands of trees being planted in Auroville. We supported an international conference on Computational Linguistics, the first stages of a vocational training program for Auroville youth, and a shelter that cares for dozens of stray and abandoned dogs. And we helped further the development of the gardens around the Matrimandir, Aurovilles spiritual center.

All the grants that we sent came from our own fundraising activities, including public awareness campaigns, donor cultivation and stewardship, and grant writing. And we also sent monthly email newsletters, and hosted several livestream events that connected our global audience with people doing interesting and innovative work in Auroville. Throughout the year we collected funds from donors with a general interest in supporting Auroville, and in December we used those funds to match all donations to our vetted projects. Overall we raised over $200k for Auroville projects in December. We also partnered with the India Development and Relief Fund, which matched our grants for several projects, expanding our grantmaking capacity even further.
