To improve the quality of life of persons on the autism spectrum and their families.
Programs
3 programs
Prosper academy - launched in 2022, this two-year post-secondary program is for adults with autism to learn the skills necessary to live independently. Program includes classroom and community-based learning as well as a live-in dorm experience.
Prosper workforce services (formerly known as pace) - operated a program designed to provide employment support for adults with autism who want to find and maintain competitive employment positions. The mission of the initiative is to provide individualized, team supported, long-term employment services to adults who have autism so they may reach their career goals, achieve greater independence, and contribute in a personally meangingful way to the community.
Other program services include: a-team - launched in 2022, this structured after-school program is designed and implemented by a board-certified behavior analyst (boa). The program is for adolescents with autism to engage in activities with same-age peers that strenghten social and life skills; circle of friends (cof) - in partnership with the asd network , aap supports the implementation of cirlce of friends programs in schools across nebraska. This peer-mentoring social skills program can be administered by school staff within the school day or after-school. There must be at least one student with autism in a school's cof group, but students of all abilities are encouraged to participate.
