Avera Mckennan Hospital Medical Staff

The primary purpose of the organization is to constitute a professional collegial organization of the medical professionals accredited to practice at avera mckennan hospital; to provide credentialing services and process for physicians, dentists, and allied health professionals to obtain clinical practice privileges at the hospital; to provide consultation and professional support to the members; to assure patient care at the hospital is consistently maintained at an optimal level; to work with the hospital to establish appropriate professional responsibilities, authority and accountability; to provide a mechanism for accountability of its members to the hospital for appropriate patient care, ethical conduct and teaching and research activities at the hospital; to provide a means by which members can participate with the hospital to formulate policies and plans regarding medical care and practice, and to provide appropriate professional disciplinary supervision as may be required.
