The mission of BASS, Inc. is to build upon the assets of residents and institutions to create positive community development including youth development, affordable housing, civic engagement, and economic development in Highland Park Michigan

Community Engagement--BASS mobilzed and organized residents to conduct demonstrations, sign petitions, and write letters and visit policy makers to educate policy makers regarding the water debt that was threatened to be placed on homeowners property taxes. BASS conducted training on community service learning and provided stipends to block clubs to support their community service projects. BASS conducted voter education training and mobilized residents to engage in the democratic process. BASS conducted a community planning process to create a new community hub for resource sharing.
