Sweet dreams. A program that provides mattress/box springs sets to emancipated children leaving foster care. Mattress/box spring sets are supplied to selected agencies for distribution. Also included with the beds are sheets, pillow cases and towels. These items are given to the young people who reach the age of 18 and can no longer remain in foster care. Some of these youngsters have never had a bed of their own. Beds are also given to formerly homeless youth, who are referred by the place. The place is an agency that offers services and shelter to homeless youth 15-21.
Assault survivor kits (ask). This program, in cooperation with memorial hospital's sexual assault crisis center and sexual assault nurse examiner (sane), provides clothing and hygiene kits to sexual assault victims who are required to leave their clothing as police evidence. During the past year, 2486 victims of assault were given new clothing. These clothes included winter sweat shirts, sweat pants, summer capris and tops along with bras, underwear, socks and other clothing. Assistance league is the only organization that offers this help in the colorado springs area.
