The ballard house project, inc. Is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history and contributions of birminghams african-american community in the years leading to and through the birmingham civil rights movement

This multi-year project entails the beautification plants and garden materials installation, grounds preparation, watering, plant replenishment and short term maintenance of the grave sites of victims of the 1963 16th street baptist church bombing in birmingham. Our project focuses on the grave sites and family grave sites of the four girls who passed as a result of the bombing. This project is a gift of comfort and community remembrance to the families of the four little girls.
The ballard house project researches, documents, preserves and shares the history of birminghams african american community, creating oral historeis and community conversations, maintaining an historical archive, and plans for temporary, permanent and digital exhibits
