Ballet spartanburg enriches, educates and inspires lives through presenting the only professional ballet productions in the community. These productions include dancers from ballet spartanburg's professional company, dancers from the center for dance education and guest artists.

The center for dance education is an instructional center committed to providing the highest quality dance education in a non-competitive atmosphere.two divisions are taught: classical and recreational. The mission of the cfde is a collective effort to create a pleasant and supportive atmosphere for artistic excellence through dance education. The center instructs approximately 350 students from spartanburg and approximately 37 different counties. Dance classes are taught to ages 3 to adult. Ballet, ballroom, boys only classes, contemporary, creative, irish step, lyrical, pointe/pre-pointe, stretch & strenghten, tap and jazz, tumbling, summer camps, summer workshops and intenstives.
It is our mission to continue educating and inspiring students and adults in spartanburg and surrounding areas. Ballet spartanburg's education and community outreach performs in over 28 outreach sites and impacts over 30,000 annually. Outreach programs include: lecture/demonstrations for schools; ballet spartanburg city dance, a summer and after school program, teaches dance for at-risk, inner city youth: school residencies; in and after school dance performances in partnership with the chapman cultural center's muse machine program; performances in nursing homes, hospitals and retirement centers; performances at community events, festivals and public events; free performances of peter and the wolf for all 5k-4th graders in spartanburg co. Schools; scholarship programs; dance, parkinson's dance and movement class, west african community dance class.
