Community outreach: in an effort to further contribute to the cultural life of central indiana, and to share the art of ballet in an informal non-theatre setting, btca offered a robust schedule of free community outreach performances during this fiscal year. We presented a selection of classical and contemporary ballet and jazz solos and ensemble pieces at penrod arts festival, carmel international arts festival, carmel chinese mooncake festival, symphony on the circle, and a preview of the nutcracker at carmel christkindlemarkt. Total audience of these events is estimated at 300-350 actively engaged adults and children. Storytime performances were also presented at at carmel, westfield, whitestown, and zionsville libraries (total 6 engagments over the fiscal year) reaching over 350 children and adults. Each of these outreach activities also had an informational component with info table and/or faculty available for q&a. The library storytimes also included an interactive mini-ballet class and ballet pantomime lesson.
