Mission

BasicNeeds US seeks to improve access to effective mental health services and psychosocial supports for people and families affected by mental illness in resource poor settings around the world. Working with our partners from the BasicNeeds Network, we develop and promote strategies to enable people to live and work in healthy communities. We provide seed funding and training strategies for community health workers to promote self-help groups, peer support and other community partnerships. Our work is in partnership with BasicNeeds programs and other collaborators in low resource settings in Africa and South Asia.
