Mission
The basin street regulars was founded in 1976 to preserve and propagate dixieland/traditional jazz. The bsr accomplishes this goal/charter by providing monthly live music, sunday jazz sessions for members, jazz festivals, the jubilee by the sea event, providing scholarships to young musicians, encouraging young musicians to join jammers at sunday jazz, and by hiring hs bands for intermission.
Programs
1 program
Preserving and promoting forms of jazz, especially traditional jazz. Providing a common meeting ground where jazz musicians can play their music to interested audiences. Providing liaison between jazz musicians, jazz societies, and the public. Providing young musicians of junior high school, high school, and college age with scholarships to the summer jazz camps. The monthly jazz concerts cost more than we take in and we depend on the previous large donations that we invested to cover our shortages.
