Mission
The Bayou City Initiative (BCI) purpose is to address, educate and advocate for flooding solutions in Houston, Texas. BCI seeks to focus public debate on solutions to environmental problems and safe alternatives to Houstons current flood-prone infrastructure. BCI intends to develop policy solutions and proposals to address flooding problems including, but not limited to, inaccurate flood maps, homeowner risk awareness, land buyouts, mitigation solutions, and project prioritization.
