Be A Mentor offers mentoring services to under-served youth in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout California. We are a leader in advancing and strengthening mentoring for at-promise and low-performing youth. Originally founded in 1992, we have managed numerous mentoring projects with cities, counties, and schools, providing direct mentoring services and pairing thousands of youth with caring adult role models. Our programs reduce gang violence, prevent alcohol and drug abuse, and improve academic performance, and have served marginalized youth including foster youth, children with parents in prison and transitional youth. Working with partners, we help to recruit, train, and oversee mentors as they work with youth to improve academic, social, and career outcomes.
