Athletics: beacon house engages over 300 boys and girls annually in a comprehensive athletics program that promotes physical fitness, personal development, and academic responsibility. Our flagship football program consistently competes at a high level and attracts youth from across washington, dc. In addition to football, beacon house offers competitive basketball, baseball/softball, cheerleading, and plyometrics, along with a summer sports camp. Beyond athletic performance, the program provides mentorship, fosters teamwork and resilience, and serves as a trusted community hub for youth and families. Many participants have gone on to excel in high school athletics and earn college scholarships, reflecting the program's long-standing impact on youth opportunity and community well-being.
Nutrition: to ensure that hunger is not a barrier to learning, beacon house provides approximately 125 free meals each day to the children we serve. In addition, we teach our students what constitutes a healthy and balanced diet, and help our students develop healthy eating habits.
