Mission
Bellis is a groundbreaking, national nonprofit whose mission is to improve the lives of those suffering from complex grief and ambiguous loss, with a special focus on those whose children are parented by others, and to raise the standard of care for systems serving them. Bellis is the only organization that supports people with experiences of termination of parental rights and similar circumstances. Bellis has no political or religious affiliation or agenda and is independent of child-placing agencies, child welfare and court systems.
Programs
1 program
Bellis expanded the reach of its stronger together peer support model through both direct-service partnerships and a newly available facilitator training program. In collaboration with the university of minnesota, bellis developed a comprehensive facilitator training manual and training process. This licensed training allows organizations that support people whose children are parented by others to equip their own professionals to implement the stronger together peer support model within their programs, with ongoing support from bellis.
