Mission
Bello machre has 50 fully accessible homes throughout anne arundel and carroll counties supporting 200 people, providing around the clock loving care. In addition to providing assistance and support tofamilies in the community, bello machre has a successful, ever-expanding community services program. This program includes personal supports and meaningful day services all of which provide opportunities for independence, productivity, and personal growth. Bello machre proudly continues the legacy of its founding families, fulfilling their mission and vision of providing a lifetime of loving care and opportunities to people with developmental disabilities. Every person served by bello machre will have the opportunity to experience a meaningful day based on their needs and desires and will live in a safe and beautiful home or receive personalized community services by trained and compassionate caregivers. Meaningful day: provided in-person meaningful day services to 170 people serving people in anne arundel, baltimore, and carroll counties; 16 of these individuals are being served through our self-directed program. 43 individuals are employed in the community with some of our great business partners: sc logic, safeway, food lion, giant, royal farms, bj's, bitty & beau coffee shop, cinemark, mr. Carwash, dollar tree, weis, walmart, tential, maryland live!, the carroll county sherriff's department, winters mill high school, fresh start daycare, kohls, martins, carroll lutheran village, boscov's, olive garden, walmart, allied security, stratosphere, the best western, the goddard school, four seasons gym, petco, mechanicsville elementary school, carroll lutheran village, ihop, moonlit acres, and kindred care daycare. Five individuals are running their own micro business: kelly's homemades (healthcare products, as seen on cbs news), puzzled pet treats (pet treats), spot on cleaning (car detailing), the history brooks (youtube history show) and spikes pop art (produces and sells artwork). Provided peer-to-peer abuse and neglect training to 85 people in community services which was led by two individuals in services providing crisis intervention training to local law enforcement. This training is designed and presented by 2 of our individuals whose focus is to provide guidance to officers concerning best practices when engaging with people with disabilities. Bello machre served 25 people through the division of rehabilitation services (dors), offering educational support, travel training, job coaching, job development preparation, and job placement.
Personal supports: provided services to 116 people, providing 83,825 hours of services. Currently serving people in anne arundel, baltimore, carroll, howard, and prince george's counties. In addition, bello machre provided a total of 1,154 hours of respite services. Expanded partnerships with various local businesses including petco, restore, and the humane society as well as partnered with moonlit acres to provide yoga and hiking classes to 10 people in services. People in services had meaningful experiences with the national aquarium in baltimore, the baltimore zoo, hershey park, hollywood casino, paint nights, tim mcgraw concert, philadelphia eagles training camp, harpers ferry, and the maddie and tae country music concert. Bello machre served eighty-six individuals/families through the ray of hope program, providing $92,000 in support.
Individual support services:bello machre understands the daily challenges faced by many families. Together they develop a plan identifying needs and finding resources through our family and support services program. Whether planning for a child just entering pre-school or needing in-home care for a family member who is aging, our dedicated and trained team helps every step of the way. The program also provides personal assistance including, but not limited to, helping families care for their children, providing transportation, purchasing and administering medication, initiating and navigating state funding, and buying medical accessories and equipment. Bello machre also helps families through the application process - providing education about the ins-and-outs of the system. Its support services team provides case management including referral services, resource coordination, and advocacy.
