Public awareness. Hosting authors and thought leaders in partnership with gbh boston forum network in panel discussions and webinars on climate issues from alaska to senegal. Hosted on site education trips to wetlands and experimental forests, attended conferences on beavers, presented at ny city climate week at the nigerian embassy, and were the guest speakers on podcasts. Partnered with other organizations to uplift all voices including with trout unlimited to show the groundbreaking film, blackwaters, partnered with our childrens trust for a webinar on recent judicial wins, and partnered with local cambridge groups to reach hundreds of citizens at biodiversity day and the moth ball. Our new communications manager increased the reach of our messaging on social media with video and visual content.

Ecorestoration. We continue to fight urban heat islands and mitigate other climate effects through urban reforestation using the miyawaki method of planting tiny, fast growing, low maintenance forest ecosystems in small plots of land. Since planting the first miyawaki forest in new england in 2021, we continue to support and monitor our 4 existing forests, and to plant new forests each year. 2024 saw our two largest new plantings, including our first depaving project to replace part of a parking lot with a community planted, biodiverse, native plant forest system. Our advocacy and education efforts have inspired many more forests in the area.
