The Birmingham Historical Society researches and interprets the history of Birmingham and its surroundings and helps initiate and support the preservation of historic landmarks, parks, and neighborhoods.

The Society reprinted Its Nice to Live in Birmingham together with the story of the citys mantra, releasing the volume at the first and to be annual Its Nice to Have you in Highland Park open house at our offices

The Annual Meeting gathered members for a talk by a noted speaker followed by a tasting for members Fruity Wonders Cakes. The 2024 speaker Bill Deutsch, Research Fellow Emeritus, Auburn University School of Fisheries, Agriculture, and Aquatic Sciences, took us on A Walk Through Deep Time.... 500 Million years.
