FAMILY ENGAGEMENT: BCDI-Atlantas family engagement initiatives strengthen bonds between families and schools, creating a supportive community for children. Family engagement is crucial in a childs development, and in 2024, we focused on strengthening these bonds. Through workships and community events, we provided families with tools and strategies to support their childrens learning at home. Empowering families creates a support network that enhances Balck childrens educational journey. Implementing curriculum and resources enables BCDI-Atlanta to impact 6,056 families and 6,320 children in 2024.

ADVOCACY: BCDI-Atlanta advances the quality of life for children, families, and communities by connecting programs, policy, and advocacy, through engagement of members and the broader community in activities designed to address local and state civic matters affecting children and families in Georgia. BCDI-Atlanta hosts an annual Advocacy Day at the Capitol, including a Capitol tour, legislative priority discussions, and meetings with state legislators. These meetings emphasize family engagements impact on preschool education, interventions for school behavioral issues, and collaboration with community stakeholders to identify improvement goals. EARLY LITERACY: BCDI-Atlanta early literacy programs focus on improving language development skills (Schedule O)
