Mission

To empower talent through high-impact programs that build skills, confidence, and community.

Programs

3 programs

In school/code clubs: bgc delivered free after-school code clubs (six weeks) and immersive week-long summer camps that engaged middle and high school students in hands-on tech learning. Hosted with schools and community partners, programs used csta-aligned javascript and python curricula and emphasized ai, climate tech, and game development, paired with mentoring and confidence-building sessions. Supported through joint investment from bgc and college, corporate, and community partners, these programs culminated in certificates and public showcases. In 2024, bgc ran 17 code clubs (88% intend to return) and 8 summer camps - a 232% increase over 2023 - with 97% of campers reporting increased coding confidence.

Expenses: $2.4M

Colleges and careers (formerly alumnae): bgc inspires: bgc's college & careers programs inspire adults 18+ to see themselves in the tech workforce by building community, visibility, and belonging. Weekly enrichment sessionsfocused on mental wellness, financial empowerment, and career exploration - engaged roughly 40 participants per session and created a supportive environment where learners could imagine and pursue new career possibilities.bgc educates: in 2024, under new executive leadership and an expanded board, bgc accelerated investment in workforce development. The newly launched tech prep fellowship equipped participants with in-demand skills through employer recruitment intensives, resume (see schedule o) and mock interview coaching, technical interview prep, franchised power skills labs, coding challenges, and portfolio development workshops - strengthening both confidence and technical aptitude.bgc launches: to support career advancement, bgc introduced a dynamic member portal offering community features, curated resources, and job opportunities. Consistent with bgc's fiscal priorities, the majority of expenditures fueled program delivery and 18+ earn-and-learn workforce initiatives, positioning the organization for national scale and deeper partnerships with hiring managers and workforce development leaders.

Expenses: $1.3MGrants: $74K

Marketing: bgc enhanced its marketing and communications function to support strategic growth, program enrollment, and community engagement. Under new executive leadership, the organization implemented a modernized brand strategy, expanded digital storytelling, and launched new website and social content for youth and adult audiences. Marketing efforts increased visibility for code along jr., code clubs, summer camps, and college & careers initiatives while strengthening outreach to schools, higher education partners, and workforce development organizations through newsletters, partner toolkits, and multi-channel campaigns. Bgc also expanded its public relations efforts, earning media exposure for program milestones and participating in national conferences, convenings, and thought-leadership events to amplify its mission and strengthen relationships with corporate, philanthropic, and community partners. These activities elevated national awareness of bgc's work, strengthened partnerships, and supported fundraising and recruitment goals.
