OTHER PROGRAMS:Talent Development:BPM provides talent development through several programs, including:.BPMPlus Emerging Media Initiative - offers professional development workshops and training for content creators interested in producing Virtual Reality & Augmented Reality media projects. 7 producers participated in the program.360 Incubator+ - a 6-8 week mentoring program for independent documentary producers. 7 producers were selected for the program..PitchBLACK Forum - Independent media makers receive professional training and support to prepare for a live pitch. Twelve producers pitched their projects to funders, distributors, and industry leaders. Three were selected to receive production funding.Outreach & Engagement:Through its outreach and engagement initiatives, BPM expands the reach of public media to ensure unserved and underserved communities have access to smart, innovative, and groundbreaking stories exploring the diversity of the African American and African Diaspora experience. BPM partners with public media stations, cultural institutions, and community organizations to screen and promote select content from the AfroPop series, the BPM Trailblazer, and BPM-funded programs.FISCAL SPONSORSHIP:BPM also manages grants and contributions as a fiscal sponsor for small not-for-profit entities.
