Mission
The blacklidge community collective (bcc) is a nonprofit community center that hosts its own events and projects and that also houses an ecosystem of mutual aid groups, food justice organizations, archival, journalistic, print, and literary projects, and grassroots social justice groups of many kinds. The bcc provides a crucial space of support for tucsonans by hosting mutual aid projects that cushion the rising food costs or provide low-cost community-supported internet. The bcc also contributes to artistic and creative innovation by offering community and arts events. Approximately 500 people pass through the bcc's doors each month to receive free supplies or services or to attend an artistic or cultural event. Over the course of the past 5 years, the bcc has become a staple of the sugar hill community that thousands of tucsonans rely upon.
