Blkhlth launched the blkhlth cares fellowship, a hybrid training program equipping students and early-career professionals with the knowledge and skills to promote health equity in their communities. The inaugural cohort included 60 fellows who participated in virtual and in-person sessions, engaged with local leaders, and developed projects addressing community health challenges. Through this program, blkhlth continues to prepare future public health leaders committed to improving health outcomes.
Blkhlth continued its community cancer screening initiatives through partnerships with health systems and industry organizations. Through the good down there campaign and related efforts, the organization distributed thousands of at-home colorectal cancer screening kits and supported follow-up care for participants in need. Through educational events and outreach activities, blkhlth reached over one million people with information about cancer prevention and early detection.
