Blood & Marrow Transplant Information Network

Assisted the families of transplant patients with living expense assistance. Caring connections program offered support services to transplant patients to connect them with a survivor, family member, or donor.

Hosted the virtual celebrating a second chance at life survivorship symposium in may 2024 to educate blood & bone marrow transplant survivors and their families on medical treatments and lifestyle issues. Medical experts in their field donate their services as speakers and facilitators.

Special projects: 1-enhanced the online directory of mental health professionals who had experience working with stem cell transplant and/or cart-t therapy. The directory is searchable by experience level, age of patient, languages spoken and state. 2-expanded the online directory of transplant centers, searchable by disease, treatment and location. 3-expanded the number of virtual support groups that offer mental health counseling direct to patients and their caregivers. 4-continued offering a mental health training program specifically for the facilitators of the support groups.

Outreach and conferences:engaged with medical professionals and other experts in the field of blood and bone marrow transplants in an effort to increase bmt infonet's knowledge and value of information, recruit speakers, sponsors & venues for the survivor's symposium, and gain valuable content for webinars and the web site.
