Mlk day - sponsored the annual martin luther king, jr. Educational and cultural celebration event. The event included inspirational remembrances of his life and legacy with a focus on preserving and promoting the ideals of racial equality.

First responder awards - recognition of outstanding heroic and humanitarian service to the local community. Recipients/honorees this year were deputy greg mccowan (posthumously) and deputy shelby eggers of blount county sheriff's department.
