Mission
BMFSI was organized and is operated to actively mitigate wildfire risk and enhance forest health in the ongoing effort to protect the community and surrounding area from potential wildfire devastation. BMFSI also works to educate community members in wildfire risk reduction and forest stewardship best practices. Wildfire mitigation work is offered for approx 120 households and the surrounding area. Mitigation work projects as proscribed by the Coal Creek Canyon Fire Protection District Community Wildfire Protection Plan, and by a professional forester, are completed annually by community volunteers and by professional contractors. Regular educational communications are delivered via our Web Site, email and printed material. Educational presentations are offered at HOA events and other larger community-wide venues. Home Ignition Audits are performed on individual properties, in the presence of the homeowner, with a written report provided for follow-up actions to be taken.
