The Bonita Senior Center (BSC) membership is about 500 and connects older adults to vital community services that help them stay healthy and independent. BSC creates a one stop shop for older adults to gain access to multiple services in the community. The BSC works in partnership with other community agencies such as Cafe of Life and the Agency on Aging to name a few. The opportunities offered help our older adult population to stay safe, active, and healthy. Some of the wide variety of programs and services offered are: Hot meals for seniors four times per week; health fitness and wellness programs such as Tai Chi classes to increase flexibility, balance, and decrease fall risk; social and recreational opportunities together with enjoying meals and fellowship; volunteer and civic engagement opportunities; intergenerational programs. Served over 1000 seniors through education, socialization, Tai Chi, entertainment, and Hot Meal Programs. Research shows that older adults who participate in Senior Centers experience measurable improvements in their physical, social, spiritual, emotional, mental, and economic well-being. This section is an estimate for the 2nd largest program- art and music therapy classes.
