Mission

The School was founded in 2015 in Boulder Colorado by native German speakers to teach the German language and traditions of German-speaking countries. The Schools language classes are open to students of all ages and skill levels. In addition to language classes the school holds events that introduce students to German music, theater, literature, art, heritage, and other traditions that cultivate an understanding and appreciation for German culture.

Programs

1 program

To cultivate an understanding and appreciation for the German culture, events are held during the year that are meant to be fun mostly for children and parents. The school held a Maifest event, St Martins or Lantern Walk event, and Lichterfest event this year. Due to the changing demographics of our students the school changed the name of the St Nicholas event to Lichterfest to be more inclusive of those that do not celebrate Christmas. The cost increased this year over past years as the events were larger and more students attended. The school does not charge for the events but relies on donations taken during the event. Some supplies are donated as well to help reduce the costs. Donations were up this year from prior years as the School added the ability to pay with credit card at the events. We have not normally tracked the number of attendees but plan to have attendees register in advance in 2025 to help with determining the popularity of these events and the cost benefit of each event
