Mission
The boundary end center is a not-for-profit research library, educational center, and academic press dedicated to the archaeology, epigraphy, art history, (ethno)history, and historiography of mesoamerica, southeastern usa, and the andes. Its mission is to: 1) provide a comfortable, peaceful, and resourceful work-and-living space where students and scholars can pursue research and writing projects; 2) organize and host educational workshops, mini-conferences, symposia, tours, and other activities that fall within the scope of its mission; and 3) publish academic papers, monographs, and research findings related to scope and/or resulting from its educational activities. The bec fulfills its mission by: 1) maintaining the george stuart residential library; 2) awarding long-term residential scholarships through the george stuart residential scholarship and short- term support through bec guest scholarships; and 3) supporting publication of two journals-ancient america, which is dedicated
