Mission

To provide and maintain a public library which provides free services to the residents of Bowdoinham (pop. c. 3000), lends books and other media, offers educational and reading programs to children, youth and people of all ages, provides computer access to the public.

The library's collection consists of books and physical media (18,193) and with electronic offerings totals 79,496 items. FY 23-24 circulation: 10,125; patron visits: 5,900. Our library operations offers to patrons has tablets available for downloading of digital content. Grants allowed us to replace aging laptops.

Programming at no cost to the public is an important part of our services: Reading Challenges, two adult book groups, children's summer reading program, storytime, free passes to local parks and museums, speakers and lectures, self-guided Story-Walk trails.
