Arts in education program (includes missoula childrens theatre residencies): the bcrac has received national and state awards for its arts in education program. Typically, artists are funded to perform residency work with schools and community organizations to not only bring the arts to people but to help them learn skills in alternative ways.based on average residency numbers, it is estimated that over 900 students receive direct intense arts experiences during the multiple day residencies. Indirectly another 3,200 children and adults are exposed to the artists through group performances. Many of these students would not be exposed to quality arts activities without the bcrac arts in education program.
