Community/user-generated resources:breastcancer.org's professionally moderated virtual community, available in english and spanish, connects people on thousands of topics on its discussion boards. The community welcomes anyone and everyone diagnosed with breast cancer, concerned about a breast condition, or caring for a loved one affected by breast cancer. For the year ended may 31, 2024, breastcancer.org's community pages, including the discussion boards had over 3.2 million pageviews, in over 80 discussion forums.(continued on schedule o.)in addition, breastcancer.org hosts virtual, facilitated support groups with over 170 weekly participants with groups focused on patients in treatment, completed treatment, with metastatic breast cancer and diagnosed at a young age as well as caregivers.
Research news:breastcancer.org's research news program highlights the most relevant, up-to-date, and clearly actionable breast cancer research. Our science editors and medical reviewers follow the latest clinical research, guideline recommendations and fda approvals to break down what people need to know in easy-to-understand language as part of our research news program. For the year ended may 31, 2024, breastcancer.org's research news section received over 1.5 million pageviews and published 64 research news articles.
In addition to the programs offered on our own digital properties, breastcancer.org also 1) partners with leading cancer centers to conduct original cross-sectional research surveys of our audience on topics important to the breast cancer community to uncover unmet needs of patients and provide unique insights that help to advance care, 2) shares our knowledge through a variety of media engagements nationwide, including on our social media channels and 3) distributes informational booklets.
