Mission

Brem Foundation to Defeat Breast Cancer champions early detection of breast cancer to improve health outcomes for all through innovation, education, equitable access, and targeted advocacy.

Programs

4 programs

B-fund - brem's b-fund pays for breast screening and diagnostic tests for patients who are medically underserved. The brem foundation partners with nonprofits and providers to identify recipients for b-fund support in low-income communities who can not afford care. With brem funding, providers perform b-fund diagnostic tests as soon as possible after an abnormal screening. This program ensures that a patient's ability to pay does not determine whether she can get a timely breast cancer diagnosis.

Expenses: $194KGrants: $180K

Wheels for women offers free transportation to and from breast screening and diagnostic breast exams, ensuring that patients have access to vital breast care. Since launching the program in may 2019, wheels for women has provided over 4,900 rides to lifesaving care.

Expenses: $54K

Brem advocates to open access to breast screenings and diagnostics for all regardless of socioeconomic background. Brem collaborates with non-profit, corporate, and community partners involved in mission-aligned efforts and supports legislation impacting womens health and cancer reduction efforts. Brem fights for increased access to screening across the country; to eliminate burdensome out-of-pocket costs for screening diagnostic breast exams; and to ensure that women 40 and over have access to free mammography services that could save their lives. We use our voice in the media to serve as a thought leader on the benefits of early breast cancer detection and work strategically in coalition with like-minded organizations to achieve our vision of a world where women are screened properly, on time every time.

Expenses: $53K

Re-bra is a community-led bra donation program which creates a unique opportunity to deliver essential breast health resources to underserved communities. The program offers an innovative and easy way to donate new and gently used bras to populations operating without a safety net. Each re-bra is tagged (in english and spanish), with breast health information and local resources to get free and low-cost mammograms, and donated through the brem foundations network of community partners.
