Community programs:bridgeport caribe youth leaders (bcyl) inc., now known as caribe connections, operated for nearly seven years following hurricane maria to address community needs. Two part-time community outreach workers engaged families effectively, leading to increased enrollment and improved outcomes. Bcyl emphasized the importance of family involvement in youth development. The program aimed to expand by adding emotional and mental health support for parents through counseling, workshops, and financial education, while continuing to address food insecurity and housing issues.
