In fiscal year 2024, bcm the museum opened opposites abstract. The visiting exhibit was based on the exploration of opposites, inspired by mo willems' bestselling children's book of the same name. Taking inspiration from the eye-popping, emotive, and highly accessible words and images in the book, the exhibit prompts visitors of all ages to investigate opposites through hands-on experiences, art-making, and performances. Artrink, a seasonal exhibit also returned in fiscal year 2024. The theme was ""we grpw and bcm's rooftop art exhibition featuring the work of eighteen local artists and a 3,000 square-foot synthetic ice skating.in the 2023 fiscal year, the museum opened a-maze-d, a life-size maze created from cardboard boxes and including art and puzzles and artrink, a 3,000 square foot synthetic ice-rink flanked by interactive art installations. In the 2023 fiscal year, the museum opened two new spaces, a 6,500 square foot branch of brooklyn public library and a 175-seat auditorium and movie theater. The museum also presented two temporary exhibits in the 2023 fiscal year, jurassic mini-golf, a child-sized golf course flanked by animatronic dinosaurs, and sound field, a series of large-scale, fantastical instruments activated by visitors. In fiscal year 2022, bcm opened brooklyn voices, an immersive exhibit that shares a diverse collection of brooklyn's stories from bcm's historical archives, share a family recipe, play hopscotch with a new friend in the streetscape, and discover how our neighborhoods and streets got their names; artrink: a note to our future, bcm's rooftop art exhibition featuring the work of sixteen local artists and a 3,000 square-foot synthetic ice skating rink, and jurassic mini-golf, which featured a nine-hole mini-golf course and several animatronic dinosaurs.
