Vision: a brooklyn where all coimmunities are healthy, economically sound, culturally vibrant, and civically engaged. Mission: brooklyn communities collaborative (bcc) promotes health equity in brooklyn neighborhoods. Working across silos, bcc empowers communities and engages partners to develop and implement innovative strategies that address complex systemic challenges. Bcc advances this mission through: research - bcc is driven by participatory action research (par), engaging community members in identifying needs and solutions, to directly inform priorities and programs. Convening - a trusted intermediary, bcc mobilizes a strategic network of partners, all working towards a common goal of health and wealth equity. Incubation - bcc incubates and advances multi-sector initiatives to eliminate inequities in life expectancy and improve quality of life. Priorities: first accomplishment. In 2024, bcc launched the brooklyn health enterprise small business accelerator in 2024, in partnership with the department of urban policy and planning at hunter college-cuny and eleven3seven5. The accelerator offered a cohort of local, minority and women-owned businesses expert-led seminars, personalized technical assistance, and education on procurement processes. Participants also gained access to a network of professionals and procurement leaders from bcc's anchor partners. Originally designed for nine businesses, overwhelming interest and qualified applicants prompted bcc to expand the program to include 13 participants.

In 2024, bcc launched the third round of funding through its strong communities fund regranting initiative, focusing on improving maternal health in brooklyn communities. A community-led, multi-disciplinary review committee reviewed applications and awarded grants to 10 organizations committed to advancing maternal health outcomes.
