Community outreach: provides education and resources for the humane treatment of animals, and a variety of services to assist struggling pet owners who need help to care for and keep their pets. Hundreds of students received training last year about the humane treatment of animals through shelter tours, presentations, community events, and supervision of service projects. The surrender prevention program assisted 148 households and their animals. Over $57,000 in small grants were provided through partnership with local veterinary clinics to assist pet owners in obtaining the essential medical care they needed for their animals. Countless other pets and their families were aided through in-kind donations of more than 11,000 pounds pet food and pet supplies donated to local pantries across the community.

Expenses: $463K

Animal cruelty investigation and prosecution: bcspca employs a team of humane law enforcement officers. In 2024, they investigated 463 complaints of suspected animal cruelty and neglect throughout the county. From these investigations, bcspca rescued 266 animals and provided them with the medical and other essential care they needed. In addition to enforcement of animal cruelty laws, humane law enforcement officers provide specialized assistance to local police forces, community education, and other efforts to prevent and resolve animal-related issues across bucks county. Our officers are funded solely through donor support.
