The welcome home initiative series including a three day retreat held in north virginia beach during march 2020 is for war-zone veterans suffering in varying degrees of post-traumatic stree and moral/soul injury. As a complement to medical, psychiatric, and social services already in place, assuring a welcoming and safe place for veterans and spouses. The program offers a series of talks on: resources for coping and recovery, healing of memories, the importance of telling your story and how to do so effectively, impact of post-trauma stress upon family and other close relationships. The program and series is ongoing and continues to make a positive impact for veterans and their families.
