The second largest event is the Colorado River Balloon Festival which is a 3-day event in November which attracts numerous balloonists and thousands of members of the public to watch the balloon launches and attend the evening "Balloon Glow" event. The balloonists visit area schools to educate students about balloon piloting and to entertain them when the balloons land on school grounds.

Caballeros sponsores a marathon, half-marathon and 10K taking advantage of the moderate winter temperatures of the area to attract runners from a variety of states.
