In an effort to expand our reach, the food bank created the community mealsprogram in 2021. In partnership with local churches we provide 3 communitymeals per week. Each location serves 150-200 individuals per meal resulting in500-600 hot meals to the community each week.
The food bank is the largest resource in Caldwell County. Through our backpackprogram, we serve 650 students monthly with backpacks that contain snack itemsand heat and eat meals. Each bag also contains a voucher for the student'sfamily to receive an additional grocery basket at the food bank. This programis available at all 11 schools in our county. Through our mobile markets weserve approximately 250 households at 2 locations monthly. The markets are part of our outreach efforts to reach smaller communities in our county.
