CABEs Professional Learning Services Team has expanded its services and worked with over 80 school districts and county offices of education in 2023-2024. These programs are offered through contract-for-service agreements as well as grants from California and the Federal Departments of Education. Topics and services offered include dual language immersion, English Language Development, Asian Languages Round Table and Institutes, Dual Language Teacher Academy, ELD Teacher Academy, Literacy/Biliteracy Development, Multilingual Masterplans, Administrator Leadership Teams, Project GLAD, WRITE Institute, Bilingual Credential Authorization Support for Para Educators, Special Education, Science for English Learners, and Early Childhood Education.

The National Professional Development program, Project PROMESA, is a grant Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, which offers both educator and parent/family professional learning on dual language immersion programs to two districts and six schools in both Southern and Northern California. During the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, over 300 educators, parents, and families continue to participate in Project PROMESA, a 5-year grant, of which we just completed year three.

CABE is an advocacy organization that promotes public awareness through advocacy and information about English Learner/ Multilingual Learner education. Each year scholarships and awards are given and bilingual/multilingual education is promoted. This is done through information campaigns, publications, websites, social media, conferences, and regional and statewide advocacy related to issues relevant to English learner/Multilingual learner students. This work is taken to the local level by our membership and affiliates. During the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, we awarded five scholarships and eight awards, produced one periodical, twelve online newsletters, and one website. Information Campaigns is a term used to loosely describe the information we send out on different issues. CABE does not engage in specific political campaigns.
