2 programs
We cultivated a residential green infrastructure improvement, building a permeable patio of 285 ft., and a rainwater harvesting system of 250 gallons from the private home-owner's roof, supporting local watersheds. We planted 185 trees in sf's bayview neighborhood at two sfusd schools and 50 residences in the 94124. Planted, staked and tied new trees, planted habitat gardens and engaged the community in ongoing tree maintenance activities
We executed 5 new sidewalk gardens, cutting concrete and cultivating a 285f2 of new sidewalk gardens on sf's mission on mission street, planting 100 pollinator supporting perennials and 3 new street trees with community members. We teach classes for independence high school, engaging 9th-12th grade students in hands-on gardening lessons in the can-created organic educational gardens on campus @ 1350 7th avenue. We executed planning activities for the north beach green project, planning with partners to plant out 25 street trees and 1,100 ft2 of new sidewalk gardens in sf's north beach neighborhood.
