California Council On Economic Education

The economics for empowerment program is an in-depth multi-day, residential professional development program for high school economics teachers jointly executed by ccee and caset. Program participants attend the program in the summer, typically held at a university campus with onsite residential and catering accommodations. Program beneficiaries engage in 45 hours of instruction and electrical learning guided by 7 different instructors across a range of learning modalities, teaching techniques, sample lessons and curriculum pertaining to economics and personal finance education.

Student contests comprise a growing number of events held throughout the year, including the personal finance challenge, the national economics challenge, the financial adviser's contest and the stock market game. These events reach thousands of students each year and provide novel experiences for students to apply their learning in non-classroom settings, be mentored by financial professionals, spend time in real-world applications of the material, and enjoy a competitive experience with other similar students across the state. The in-person finals for these culminate in an on-site experience, typically held at a branch location of the federal reserve bank of san francisco.

Targeted between middle school and elementary.
