The California Historical Radio Society (CHRS) actively engages the community through events such as swap meets, electronics sales, and educational programming. With classes, lectures, youth camps, and museum tours, CHRS provides diverse opportunities for learning, cultural enrichment, and community connection while promoting the history of electronic communication.

The California Historical Radio Society (CHRS) contributes to waste diversion through its radio sales program by refurbishing and repurposing donated vintage radios. This initiative reduces electronic waste by restoring and upgrading radios with modern features like Bluetooth, giving them new life and putting them into the hands of new owners, thus keeping them out of landfills.

The California Historical Radio Society (CHRS) serves a diverse membership of over 690 individuals offering a range of programs and benefits. Members enjoy access to educational workshops, speaker events, a bi-annual journal, and opportunities to participate in preserving and celebrating the history of electronic communication, our volunteers are on site twice a week and on Saturdays we offer a community lunch for the volunteers fostering a vibrant and engaged community.
