The mission of the California Ocean Alliance is to conduct world-class marine research which leads directly to sound policy decisions that safeguard the oceans and allow marine mammals to thrive into the next century.

EDUCATION: Inspire young scientists by providing unique research and educational opportunities in Monterey Bay, through field and classroom based experiences.

CONSERVATION: Implement complimentary conservation projects that ensure marine mammals and their ocean environments thrive for centuries to come. COA works with academic intuitions, government agencies, and other NGOs to design and implement research-driven conservation projects. We also work with other marine scientists to translate research findings that impact policy decisions around marine mammal protection.
