Purpose of the california state alliance is to further the public and charitable purposes of young mens christian associations incorporated as nonprofit public benefit corporations in the state of california.

Youth development: the california state alliance of ymcas promotes youth development in california by promoting investment in youth development through advocacy, advocating in support of the youth development programs of our member associations, and supportingcollaboration among our member associations on statewide initiatives to promote youth development. We provide a range of technical services to our member ymcas, such as strategic planning, board development, communications consulting, staff roundtables, and operational consulting, which further their and our work in youth development.
Healthy living: the california state alliance of ymcas promotes healthy living in california by promoting public health initiatives through advocacy, advocating in support of the health and fitness programs of our member associations, and supporting collaboration among ourmember associations on statewide initiatives to promote healthy living. We partner with other charitable organizations and public agencies to promote healthy living through collaborative projects and advocacy. We provide a range of technical services to our member ymcas, such as strategic planning, board development, communications consulting, staff roundtables, and operational consulting, which further their and our work in healthy living.
