Cwf's oaks fund established and continues to coordinate national, state, regional and local organizations to conserve and perpetuate the state's primary old growth resource. Conservation members are united by the vital role of oaks in sequestering carbon, maintaining heatlhy watershed, providing sustainable wildlife habitat, and celebrating cultural values. California oaks provides valuable research and information to educate and engage the public in critical planning processes, and providing oak information to opinion leaders throughout the state on the benefits of conserving critical oak resources.

Cwf continues to administer state coastal conservancy funds for the greater san francisco bay restoration projects including importing free, tested, clean soil for restoring wetlands, raising levees, and building ecotone projects. Its partners include pacific states enviromental inc. And granite rock. These large-scale projects are the responsiblity of the united states fish and wildlife service and the california department of fish and wildlife. Cwf feels grateful to be part of the implementation efforts. Funds for skaggs island were received from the united states navy; endowment funds to benefit antioch dunes restoration were received from pacific gas and electric company
