Our mission is to lead California communities to nourish, educate, support and empower families in building a healthy future.

Consulting and other expenses to improve communications, nutrition and breastfeedingpolicy knowledge, and professional development among WIC state and local staff, andother public health professionals, via a quarterly newsletter, bi-weekly electroniclist serve, and web site; provided leadership training and skill-building for WICmanagers and staff to improve services in the WIC program; and solicited and oversawformative research to determine best practices in WIC nutrition education andevaluation and breastfeeding policies administered by the WIC Worksite WellnessProgram for local WIC staff to improve employee health and nutrition.

California Nutrition Corps is a scholarship fund established in 2002 to supportemployees of California local WIC programs who are advancing their professionalcareers within the WIC program. The vision of California Nutrition Corps is tonurture and support individuals with the competency, talent, and dedication that arekey to WIC's proven effectiveness. Frontline WIC staff from the community, oftengraduates of WIC themselves, need more affordable, convenient and achievableopportunities in order to complete their educational goals and professional training.
