he Grace Place Community Center at Calvary Lutheran Church in Baltimore is upgrading the computer lab from the former elementary school into a Career Planning and Mentoring Center. This Center is designed to serve men and women over the age of 21 who do not have access to a personal computer. This Center will include 12 computer stations and serve as a hub for adults to prepare for GED testing; engage in self-paced study to secure certifications for "New Collar (middle skill) Jobs" that do not require expensive college degrees; improve job search and resume writing skills; practice interviewing; and receive mentoring and dress-for-success coaching. Additionally, it will provide opportunity for individuals to become oriented to the basics of using a computer, gaining proficiency in word processing, using email, conducting internet research and utilizing other online services.
