Mission
Provide nationally certified search dog teams with support management personnel to requesting agencies to assist in finding lost or missing persons utilizing the teams volunteer member dogs. Additionally provide Community Education awareness training on how to avoid getting lost and what to do to help search teams find you if you have become lost.

The majority of Calvert K-9 Search Teams time is spent training both the canines and the members to be ready to execute a search mission This includes all facets of dog and handler training to conduct search operations starting at the basic building blocks of dog handler interactions specific canine search technique training steps and advanced dog training. Training culminates in independent National Association of Search and Rescue NASAR testing certification followed by long term training to maintain proficiency. Both the individual members and team as a whole also train in search technique skills search management victim behavior and effectively working within the Incident Command System structure. All members are also independently tested and certified by NASAR. The end result is a professionally trained volunteer search and rescue canine team ready to save lives
