Camp Rising Sun is a camp for children ages 5 to 17 who have been diagnosed with cancer, are currently undergoing treatment, are in remission, or are siblings of children affected by cancer. The camp operates two sessions annually: a minicamp weekend in March and a week long summer session in August.In 2024, 120 campers attended the week long summer session, and 75 campers participated in the minicamp weekend.The Camps program is supported by substantial donated services, which are not reflected in the expenses reported in Part IX of Form 990. Volunteers staff the camp, including camp counselors, medical personnel, and other camper support staff. The value of these services is not reported as contribution revenue.Camp Jewell, the host site, provides some activity staff, the cost of which is included in the rental agreement and reported as occupancy in Part IX. The Camp also benefits from an on-site medical facility, which is funded through the rental agreement with Camp Jewell.
